The 2026 entry-fee table
| Category | Adult (low / high) | Child 9–17 (low / high) |
|---|---|---|
| Non-resident (USD) | $100 / $200 | $50 / $50 |
| Kenyan citizen (KES) | 1,500 / 3,000 | 300 / 500 |
| EAC resident (KES) | 2,500 / 5,000 | 1,000 / 2,000 |
| Narok County resident (KES) | 1,000 / 2,000 | 200 / 500 |
The 12-hour rule (the quoting killer)
The ticket is valid 6am–6pm and does not carry overnight[2]. A "3-day Mara trip" spanning 4 calendar days is four entry fees per guest. Quote per calendar day in the reserve, not per trip. Guests lodging inside the Mara Triangle pay at Purungat Bridge even if they entered via Sekenami gates — fees follow where you sleep, and driver’s licences are rejected as residency proof[2].
Vehicle fees — a source conflict you should know about
| Seats | marareserve.org | masaimara.travel |
|---|---|---|
| < 6 seats | KES 1,000 | KES 400 |
| 6–12 seats | KES 1,500 | KES 1,000 |
| 13–24 seats | KES 3,500 | KES 3,000 |
| 25–44 seats | KES 4,500 | KES 4,000 |
| 45+ seats | KES 5,000 | KES 5,000 |
Both are official-adjacent sources captured on 2026-09-06 and they disagree[1][3]. We won’t average them for you — verify the current sheet at the gate office that invoices you, and budget the higher band until confirmed.
Payments: the gates went cashless
The Mara Triangle gate is cashless — M-Pesa or Visa/Mastercard only[2], with pre-payment options in Nairobi for operators running sets. Build fee collection into your quote from day one: our quoting flow carries park/conservancy fee lines inside the proposal so the client sees exactly what entry costs.
The operator’s quoting rules
- Quote entry fees per calendar day inside the reserve, per guest, in the guest’s residency tier.
- Use the season that applies at TRAVEL date, not booking date — the Jan–Jun vs Jul–Dec split doubles the non-resident fee.
- Children’s rates apply to the 9–17 band; under-nines are free (carry proof of age).
- Add vehicle fees per the confirmed current sheet; budget high until verified.
- Conservancy nights: use the camp’s bundled rate where it applies instead of guessing a fee.
When your catalog stores these fees as structured data — tier, season, validity, source, checked date — every quote prices itself correctly. That’s exactly how our catalog treats rates, and the worked pricing example shows the full quote build.
