The five cost lines
- Park & conservancy entry — per guest, per calendar day, per residency tier, by season.
- Accommodation — per person sharing (or per room), per night, including any bundled conservancy fee.
- Transport — vehicle per day (fuel, wear, driver) split across the party, plus any driver park-entry vehicle fees.
- Guiding & staff — your guide’s time is either in the vehicle line or explicit for hosted trips.
- Margin — your profit; state it to yourself per booking, not "whatever is left".
Worked example: 3-day Mara, 4 non-resident adults, high season
| Line | Basis | Per guest (USD) |
|---|---|---|
| Reserve entry | $200/day × 3 calendar days (high season, adult NR) | 600 |
| Camp (2 nights, full board, example) | $250/night pps × 2 | 500 |
| Vehicle (4×4, 3 days, example $250/day ÷ 4 pax) | 750 ÷ 4 | 188 |
| Guide/hosted element (example) | flat ÷ 4 | 50 |
| Subtotal cost | 1,338 | |
| Your margin (example 20% on cost) | 268 | |
| Price to client | ≈ 1,606 |
Make the quote sell the number
- Show the fee lines in the proposal — clients trust quotes that show the $600 of park entry separately.
- Offer the season trade-off: same trip in June drops entry to $100/day — a real, honest cheaper option.
- Collect a deposit the moment the proposal is accepted (M-Pesa or card) — a price is only real once it holds the rooms.
In TravelBookingWidgets the catalog carries the rate structure (tiers, seasons, validity, source dates), the builder computes the lines, and the proposal carries a payment button. The full fee table lives here if you need the numbers to load into your own catalog.
